We’ve already had two snows of over 8 inches. The first snow was wet and heavy and caused a lot of branches to fall just like the one the East is still recovering from. Colorado is still cleaning up the branches from the streets but everyone has their electricity. Everything was fine at our house. We were very impressed with how quickly the streets and bike paths were cleared of snow. Even me, the novice snow driver, was out on the streets the first morning. So far we are still OK with the colder temperatures!! I still have the same winter jacket from many years ago since it has had very little use after living in Tucson for 50 years.

Birthday bash and fall in Ft Collins
We are quite taken with the change of seasons in our new home. While most of Canada (see previous blog posting) was golden, Ft Collins has lots of gold and red leaves. After many many years in Tucson we are enjoying the changes . Our next posting will probably be winter. Not sure how “taken” we will be with that change.
Also a few pictures of our grandson Tate’s 7th birthday at their home in Evergreen which is about 90 minutes away from from us. (The little one is Chase who will be 4 in January) Close enough to spend the day, get in a game of canasta (they won) and get back home. Still enjoying beautiful weather!!!!

Fall in Canada
We took a chance and went to Canada the last week of Sept and lucked out with beautiful weather and the perfect time for the awesome change in colors. Doesn’t seem to be many trees that turn red and orange but the golden leaves were magnificent. We drove along the Icefields Parkway between Banff and Jasper and were rewarded with a mother bear and her two teenager size cubs, elk, and mountain goats standing on the rocky ledge right along the highway! What is it about seeing animals in their natural habitant that makes it so special. The glaciers are still there but like it is everywhere else, they are shrinking.
Coming home to Fort Collins we drove through Glacier National Park and then Yellowstone. More animals and we actually waited around for Old Faithful to go off. Amazing sight and amazing number of people for the last weekend in Sept and it was 6:45 P.M!
We were very excited to arrive home to new carpet, coordinated colors on the walls and our new COMFORTABLE furniture. While we are buying the essentials like dishes and silverware it is our intent to still live simply and as free from “stuff” as we can. Those of you who visited last summer need to come back and see the changes. Looks like a totally new place. Those of you who haven’t made it yet should plan on coming (probably next summer) and see a little of Fort Collins and CO. The Rocky Mountains are spectacular. We hiked on snow in July.
Pictures are coming in the next posting coming soon.

Home and Home Tucson and Fort Collins
Hi all our friends from Turkey. As I said several months ago I would finish our blog with pictures of our homes in the US. The first 5 pictures are from our home in Tucson which you can tell from the cactus is in the desert. The next pictures are of our new home in Colorado where it rains! Lots of water and green. We live right off a bike path which we use regularly for walking and biking. There are restaurants a mile from our home in three directions so we can continue with our active lifestyle that we had in Turkey. The little building is actually a three story fort our son in law built for his kids. He is a very handy person to know. Has all the tools etc for house repair projects etc. the last two pictures is our 11 year old and 3 year old grand kids.
I will add some more pictures of the Rocky Mountains sometime soon. We did some hiking there last week but failed to take the camera. It is truly beautiful.
We miss you and hope you are having a great summer!
