Today after our walk we stopped in our favorite bakery (the one we call starbucks) and, when a gentleman heard us speak English, he introduced himself to us and said he was a translator in Eskisehir. His name was Yalcin, but the interesting part was he is the husband of one of the teachers at TED and had actually worked on our work permit papers for translation from English to Turkish. He invited us for tea and we had a very pleasant conversation about Eskisehir and teaching etc. Just another example of how friendly this town is.
As we were coming over to use the internet tonight the staff at the Irish Pub ask us to be part of a publicity film they were making. We got to smile and chat with each other and drink tea while they filmed us. We are going to miss this town!!
